Our good friend that does truck fabrication for a living was telling us all about the amazing qualities of anaerobic sealer and how they've pretty much switched over to using that almost exclusively. I bought some so they could use it on my truck when we rebuild the rear axle. I got thinking that might be good in the application here for trying to seal up the valve cover.

 

I didn't realize that it can't be laid down on top of paint so I scraped the painted surface under the gasket for the breather off with a razor and then some sandpaper and then cleaned it with brake clean on a rag.

 

 

Put the new base gasket in.

 

 

All installed and setting to dry.

Looks like you have a spacer on the front of the hood??

 

I am curious about the sealer you are talking about ,is it better than RTV??

That's original Wheelhorse parts. 

They had to install the taller hood hinge to clear the taller engine.

First time we've used it.  

According to our friend it's easier to use and holds better.

The Paint RESTORATION Department AKA BBT helped me give this horse a good cleaning with Dawn and 3M Scotch Brite 7447 regular duty pads. 

 

The Paint is.... meh.... at best.  

I MIGHT decide to go further with a finer grit paper later.  No time this week.

The Paint Department also got the seat springs cleaned up, derusted, and painted,  and all mounted.

I like the lean to be forward,  not tilting back off the tractor.

This seat is kinda tilted forward.. and the springs being reversed  cause a back tilt.

I got some wiiiiiide rims a few weeks ago from @midpack. 

Decided to try out a set of OTR Lawn Trac 24x12.00-12. 

 

This evening after some other things I drilled out the wheel lug holes to accept 1/2" lugs. 

Then mounted the wheel & tire combos.

I was never a fan of ags on the front don't know why. Guess its a all wheel drive thing.

Most guys would say they are mounted  backwards but they say better steering on backwards I don't know.

That rig would be great with The beefy Firestone tri ribs if you got the hair to take out a fourth mortgage. 

 

I have those rears on a plow mule in 23 -10.5 ... labeled some other brand but they ran huge too. Really great traction and  good price point at the time.

We've tried both. Reverse and standard. Seems like it might be a wait-related issue. I say that because on my heavy C160-8 Cinnamon Horse it makes a DRAMATIC difference if they are reversed.

 

Trina's tried that on her lighter rigs and it seemed to make little or no difference whatsoever.

The little tires that are on the front of this thing right now were always only meant to be temporary.

 

I'm leaning heavily towards getting some five bolt wheels that are 8" wide by 8" diameter and getting some of those Firestone tri ribs.

Are you sure that tecky will survive with thoes big tires back there.  You have that 20 HP Briggs Vanguard if you need it.
