May not be NLA, but it could be supply chain issues.. We're still having trouble getting electrical supplies and usually have to go to 4-5 parts houses before we can get what we need for a job. peter lena 8,617 #9 Posted June 7, 2022 @rjg854 when I was on the hunt weeks back , auto zone had just about every lucas lube in stock ! every grease , gear oils , etc . when you find it , get it , find lubrication is the life of these old units , or death with lack of / neglect / wrong rating lubricant . that hi temp bearing grease , is vital , with clean out of original grease , its 560 temp , in that mule drive area / spindle bearings , get very hot , and fail , the other neglected needle bearing in the pto end cone, outer edge area , also needs the upgrade . think about it , insuring a stay with it lubricant , to every hi stress part , I also detail the pto lever rod area , that rusty trundle gets washers to firm it up . converted mine over to heim joint , use a 3/8x 24 die nut over existing 3/8x16 threads , oil lubrication , heim joint screws right on , easy ! also washered up lever starting point , next to battery , eliminated sloppy play , of course grease , solid smooth , pete Share this post Link to post Share on other sites
