elcamino/wheelhorse 9,297 #1 Posted June 6, 2022 My son has a Huskee (Husky ) spliter , 35 ton , 12.5 Hp vertical shaft B&S motor. It is leaking from the pump. There is not a model number any where on the spliter . Found part of a tag on the pump it looks like "Malb__ next word M _____ , I can read Rockford, Il. 110104 . Does any body have a spliter like this or know any thing about the pump or the company that made ? My son and his 4 buddies purchased about 4 or 5 years ago . (the 4 buddies was his first mistake ) . I can't find a parts manual on the spliter or any information on the pump. No idea on GPH rating on the pump.
Pullstart 62,861 #2 Posted June 6, 2022 Maybe tell him to swing it harder and it’ll still work? 1
Pullstart 62,861 #4 Posted June 6, 2022 $1226 for a pump alone!?!?!? I’d customize it to fit something else.
elcamino/wheelhorse 9,297 #5 Posted June 6, 2022 Every manual I have found is for a horizontal shaft engine . I checked that $1,226.00 and it is for a horizontal shaft engine.. The log spliter my son has is a vertical/horizontal unit if that makes any difference. I think if I could find the specs on the pump that is on the unit , I could find a pump to purchase. Not paying $1,226 for a pump.
squonk 41,104 #6 Posted June 6, 2022 There has to be a hydraulic repair shop near you somewhere. Have him horse that pump off and take it to to one. It will probably be cheaper to buy a new splitter! https://www.hescorva.com/ https://www.pirtekusa.com/locations/west-end/ http://www.afpind.com/
lynnmor 7,305 #7 Posted June 6, 2022 Perhaps this might help. Measure your shaft and mounting and give these guys a call.
elcamino/wheelhorse 9,297 #8 Posted June 7, 2022 Thanks guys , would like to find a manual , so I can figure out what needs replacement. There has to be some kin of coupler etc between engine shaft and pump shaft . Can't see squat as to where everything mounts. would like some kind of idea of what I am dealing with before I tear into it.

I believe that the Huskee log splitter was actually manufactured by Speeco, looks identical. If the below manual don't help try looking up a Speeco 35 ton splitter. https://www.tractorsupply.com/static/sites/TSC/downloads/ProdContentPDFs/1083954_Man1.pdf 2 hours ago, elcamino/wheelhorse said: There has to be some kin of coupler etc between engine shaft and pump shaft . Should be a love/joy connector. 1
