Piston Return Spring

EXCELLENT idea.

This would go far and wide to absorb all the excessive vibrationals well known to curse the beloved Kohler single engine.

(slight losses of power may occur)

And how about the power adder retention option.

Works similar to a accumulator. :ychain:

Imagine the sheer gumption of a K341 of you used this rod AND a hood scoop or cold air inlet....

I think that any piston return spring should be removed and replaced with a rigid bump stop to prevent piston over-travel.

Won’t work. That spring has a ‘Clockwise’ wind. Kohler’s require a ‘Counter-clockwise wind!

That is a prototype variable compression connecting rod.  They started investigating that when alcohol was mandated in the fuel.....

Oh no no no no.

Remember @ranger. .... We're on the other side of the Great Waters.

Either will work over here.

We can't even figure out whether to use metristandard or standametric so the wind-em-ups like the one in the pics are universal.

I think what we have here is an export part for Southern Hemisphere countries. This one will extend and close up the spark plug gap if used north of the equator. Used in the south it will contract and lower compression to compensate for the lower octane fuel.

:angry-tappingfoot:         Obviously this is the connecting spring for the rear cylinder of a twin cylinder Kohler variable compression engine, the front one would be counter-clockwise.        :ROTF:

Which cylinder would it be fitted to if the engine was mounted crosswise as in, for example, a ‘D’ series, or a Cub Cadet?🤔
