That SOUNDS normal to me, based on what your battery's been reading over the last few days, but I'm no expert. I have a similar problem on my '88 310-8, with a battery that's just over a year old, and I'm told by others more knowledgeable that my battery may be defective. You may want to have yours load tested -- mine passed my 100 amp load test, but failed my mechanic's 200 amp test, and NAPA's hand-held meter says it should be relaced. Diodes are small and usually soldered inline directly into the wire coming out of the stator and then covered in a plastic sleeve (pre shrink tube). They usually look like a bump in the wire and are very easy to overlook.
