Is there a little space between the input pulley and the transmission case?

You will need help because you can not shift gears with the belt guard off. Have to start it in gear.

Remove the belt guard and see if the noise disappears.

Do you have oil in it??  If so, how much and what viscosity??

I listened to your video about 8 times, and it actually sounds OK to me (or at least I can't detect the rubbing).

Should be approx. 2 qts of 90 wt gear oil.  Have you driven it around in all gears yet??  Does it shift smooth??  Do you think it is inside the case??

You might try about 1/2 to 1 cp of Lucus Oil Treatment...it is like STP.  That should help quiet the gears.

Well, thanks for not answering any of my questions.  :eusa-think:  Without any pictures of the inside of the trans, I can't see if anything stands out.  I still do not know if you think this is inside.  I did offer a solution that may help...DEPENDING ON WHAT IS GOING ON !!!  Try some Lucus Oil Treatment.

Yes it has the right amount of oil in it same oil I run in the other transmissions  with no noise I uesd two different casting I had will this be making it make noise but one is what came with the tractor the other one is not all the gears or form the transmission that was on the tractor  it as all new bearings and seals so what can it be I put a treatment in the oil in all of my transmissions to help it out  and yes I run 80w90 oil in them

I really think your transmission is OK.  Yes, it is loud, but not a bad loud.  The case halves should be fine and not an issue.  If it runs in all gears and shifts OK, I would just use it and see if it just needs to break in to quiet down.  Sure wish you had a picture of putting it together, but it sounds like you know what you are doing.  If while driving it around the noise gets louder, then let's open it and take a look.  :eusa-think:

With you using two different case half’s did the dowel pins go together easily?  If so that would indicate they are properly aligned. If you have to work to get them to bolt together that might indicate the half’s are not quite matching/aligning properly.

After I got my 416-8 back together 2 years ago ( replaced cracked gear that was ticking - appeared to be a bad casting not abuse ) with all new bearings etc it whined and made noise for a bit - after running it around awhile getting the oil circulated/ break in I don't even notice it anymore - quiet as a church mouse . I was actually concerned did something wrong/not right too .

One thing you could try...jack up the rear end, put it into one of the gears...take a long screwdriver and use it like a stethoscope (holding the handle end to your ear).  Carefully touch the case around and near where the shafts are.  If one area sounds worse then other areas, you may have found the issue and where to look.  Be safe doing this, maybe pull the back wheels.  :eusa-think:
