Timman 6 #1 Posted May 25, 2022 It's red and I'm green ,four days in and I'm still lost as to why my 310-8 won't move. First I can not find a year for it anywhere ,it's been repainted and the tags removed as far as I can find. While on jacks the wheels roll in all 4 gears at seemingly the right speed ,but I can easily stop them with my hand . 1 1/8 in. Axles, left one is offset out don't know why . I did a badly needed tranny flush .I pulled the belt from a parts tractor I have ,they were the same .the tension pulley has no wobble but doesnt seem to have enough tension.like it needs a spring to pull it back.. any ideas or tips would be very appreciated.thanks for reading all this. squonk 41,105 #4 Posted May 25, 2022 (edited) Make sure your keyways in the hubs and transmission input pulley are ok . And lets see a pic of the belt installed. wallfish 16,999 #9 Posted May 25, 2022 That idler pulley for the drive belt should have a spring to apply tension to the belt. That's how it drives and clutches. You can simulate that tension by pulling back on the clutch pedal with your toe. The spring should be on the opposite side of the pulley. Sometimes, I will set up a lawn chair with an adult beverage and just observe the situation. After the second adult beverage, the issue usually presents itself...but I would fix it tomorrow. It appears like whoever painted the wheels didn't notice it.
