b-80 with k181s cam not centered in fpump hole?

Recommended Posts

i have a b80 that the fuel pump lever doesnt touch the cam. seems the cam is shifted away from the pto side.  ive tried a new fuel pump, just wonering if there is anything to look for before tearing down. it does run on gravity fed but not real smooth.  should the lobe for the fuel pump be centered exactly in the fuel pump opening?

small block Kohlers K181 fuel pumps have an offset in the pump arm.  if you are trying to use a big block pump it will not work

There are some fuel pumps that are vacuum operated too.  If the diaphragm is good, they work quite well too.
