peter lena 8,589 #4 Posted May 7, 2022 @Goldnboy not familiar with the cast iron wheels , but am familiar with those bearings , do yourself a favor if you get them , and clean out and repack with lucas hi temp , x-tra heavy duty grease , those wide rubber side shields , are easily removed with a pocket screwdriver . wipe out " lubricant " and flush with carb cleaner , repack with same amount of hi temp grease , 560 deg anti sling , polyurea rated . no whining hi pitched noise , that mule angular set up really heats those bearings up . worth the upgrade . only a suggestion , good luck with it , pete 1 1 Share this post Link to post Share on other sites

Goldnboy 910 #6 Posted May 15, 2022 Got my new bearings that @JoeM showed which were the correct size. Picked out the dust cover off on each size and they were bone dry of grease. So repacked with my red high temp grease as @peter lena advised and reassembled and reassemble and all was rolling smoth and quiet.. Thanks all. 2 Share this post Link to post Share on other sites
peter lena 8,589 #7 Posted May 15, 2022 @Goldnboy glad you verified that bearing condition , that entire mower deck and mule drive set up , is minimal at best , its the correct hi temp grease that makes it live . I also go over every related linkage / lever point for smooth easy lubricated function . know I sound like a broken record , but my bearings do not whine in agony , that directional side load on the mule bearings really heats them up . keep it greasy , pete Share this post Link to post Share on other sites
