8ntruck 7,395 #1 Posted May 5, 2022 The muffler on Clyde the C195 has rust issues. The end plates are going away. Replacements are out there, but are hen's teeth. I have a welder and a custom exhaust system seems like a good project to improve my welding skills on. I need ideas. What can you folks out there suggest? My hearing is bad enough as it is - I do not want open pipes. I guess the place to start is to locate suitable muffler(s). Thanks in advance.
roadapples 6,983 #2 Posted May 5, 2022 Don't know what's on a C195, but with a Gravely muffler you can nearly duplicate a Nelson.....
Thor27 832 #3 Posted May 5, 2022 There is a guy selling NOS 8x3.5" Nelson mufflers for $36.80 on a big auction site. the ends are 1" npt and heavy enough to weld to. Would be easy enough to duplicate what's there now and even keep the heat shield if you so choose.
