1973 8hp 4-speed resto/refurb

I began the journey today. This horse was given to me by a good friend. As a tribute to my new found hobby and the amazing tractors these are I’m restoring this ole gal to her former glory keeping it as correct as I can. It is original frame, engine, tranny and sheet metal. Just a few knick knacks that it needs that won’t be original to it but that’s ok. I’ll try to post updates when I can but here’s the before and early tear down.

It looks like you have a solid tractor to work with - that is a plus. New seat, muffler and perhaps headlight assembly all seem to be needed - not bad.

@ebinmaine started a good read thread a short while back regarding where to start when acquiring a Horse. Plenty of good folks here that will help you out if you ask.

A lot of stuff can happen to a tractor that is almost 50 years old....

Bill, you’re exactly right. Great bunch of guys here as well and I plan to use as many of you as I need too. 😂 Eric in Maine 😜 has been a really big help, very valuable to the community and I appreciate that.
