Got another one.  What is it, what does it do, how is it used?

It's a mason's block used with mason's line. For setting & keeping the levelness of a course of brick or block. Nowadays they are made of plastic go figure.

:lol: I dunno I'd never got it if I hadn't been a mason tender for a couple of summers in my youth. Uncles on my dad's side were all masons.

This one's been in use in the shop for a decade or more.

I made my own mason line blocks... outta wood.

Yup.  This one was made by the mason.  Used a piece of 1x1 survey stake.

Yup, have quite a few of them. My Dad was a mason ...he just called them line blocks.
