AH! Sir, I beg to differ! There is nothing in the world that beats the sound of a custom built THUMPIN' racing 1 cylinder 50 hoss behemoth on a Wheel Horse! :P

“well it’s rusty and doesn’t have a mower deck anymore so I thought it was junk”

UHMmmm... there would be no way for me to contain my... displeasure...

I don't consider anyone else's' possessions to be junk. I see things as opportunities! :banana-dance:

The only people who could legally move my tractors are guys who are wearing Wheel Horse apparel... or their profile names are @Jeff-C175 @Pullstart @ebinmaine @slim67 @Achto ...and probably a couple of others that I am missing.

Other than that... we are going to have a BIG problem.

As a JD owner I can confirm that we are snobs.

Of course I'm also a Wheel Horse owner too.  I guess that means WH owners are snobs as well.

Funny how that works.

I think that... what would throw a wrench into the tractor mix is having a performance guy at the event.

It's one thing for JD snobs to deal with stock Wheel Horses... but you throw a performance equipped Wheel Horse into the mix... that would cut through some of the snobbery. :)

Thanks for confirming it for me. The wheelhorse ownership will exempt your snobbiness.

You are going to run into people everywhere that thinks their stuff doesn't stink.  We have quite a few JD owners on this site, and they have been excellent and have been treated well by all of us.  Don't forget that, when you try to lump people into a box.  There are bad actors on all sides, we have them here also.  I envy the people that collect and save any of the kind of Garden Tractors out there.  Me, I especially like the Blue Panzers and really enjoy seeing them at any show.  I also like seeing the Allis Chalmers Garden Tractors.  It is the history of all of the Garden Tractors that make all of these shows special.  It is also all of that history that makes Wheel Horse special also.  The jerks that have moved some of your tractors at any show (without permission) are just that...jerks !!!  Good luck making them feel bad, and that is why people are getting shot for stupid junk these days.  Most shows, that I have been to, have an area for the kind of Garden Tractor you are bringing.  The shows that don't, will.  I'm just saying...it is time to chill out...STOP THE HATE.  Really, is this worth arguing about.  Come on you guys.    :confusion-confused:  :bow-blue:

I like what @c-series don said on the 1st page.  Basically, if that happened to me, I would take care of it there.  I would not bring it back here and try to make everyone else mad about what happened to you.  That's harsh...I know, but we aren't going to fix what happened.  I'd be there with you if I was there at the time...know that.  :confusion-confused:  :orcs-cheers:

:text-yeahthat: isn't reserved to group 'A' or 'B'..

Some people are just buttholes and happen to like/drive/own/vote on/root for 'X' and everything else is junk/unworthy etc.

Not worth the time and effort to try and talk some sense into people like that..

Just relax a little and enjoy life people :)

Putting their hands on your equipment is the same as putting their hands on you. If you gave them permission, then alls good. If not, well you guys know the rest.

While I somewhat agree with this, the bigger issue with me would be them moving my stuff because they wanted a more of what they consider a desirable spot… again, if they only moved it to make more room, that would be different than them just moving it because they wanted my spot !

Yes, love the tut, tut, tut of an old A John Deere (spent many an hour on one)....but nothing TRULY beats the sound of a Big Twin HARLEY with Vance and Hines exhaust!

I went to a plow day event this weekend but ended up not really getting started because my lift cable broke. But before and during the event, the JD guys walked up to the drivers meeting without a greeting or anything. Why are they so serious? They all had 420,430,455 and two SCUT models that I didn't catch the models of. While all the other brands struggled these guys motored along like the two Cubs that were there. Do they know they have superior equipment ? I can't see having that kind of money into a tractor for a few events a year. Sure they're high end but your definitely paying for that.Sorry if I sound envious but again as with everything else, money wins the day. I'll still stick with my Wheelhorses.

My Favorite Manufacturer is Deere  But as You Can see By My collection I am not to color specific . I have found each Garden tractor I own has something to Offer . Now My Favorite pre 1980's Tractor is My Cub Cadet 106.  My Favorite 1990's Tractor is My Wheel Horse 416H with My Ingersoll coming in 2nd from that decade  and My Favorite Modern Garden tractor is My John Deere X748  :handgestures-thumbupleft:

Mahindra makes most of the sub 30hp tractors in the world, including contract work for other brands.  A friend of mine got a new small John Deere tractor 4 or 5 years ago.  Turns out it was built by Mahindra.

You sure about that? I know Yanmar made them for Deere but that’s a first for me hearing about Mahindra.

Sorry Deere doesn't not contract Mahindra.  to Build there Tractors Never Has  Deere Has there own Plant In Pune India where some 5E series tractors are Made

Good Friend of Mind Cleo Franklin was marketing and strategic planning Manager for Mahindra they often tried to get contracts  for some AG Manufacturers  In the Past they did Make IH and McCormick Tractors under contract

TYM is actually the Biggest Manufacture of  Compact tractor On the Market  for Massey, New Holland and Case IH and several other Manufacturers

The Last Deere to be made By Yanmar was the 2305 and  the 3E series when they 1st Came out     all Deere compacts are Now Made In House.Yanmar engines come from a Joint Yanmar-Deere Plant In Japan  :handgestures-thumbupleft:

OK.  Guess I've got to check my sources.  I did get that story through a very casual conversation.

Maybe the conversation was more like "most of the small 30hp tractors are built in India"?

First time was at our Memorial Day Wheels on Main Street show right here in town. I had my 704 parked right on a corner spot. Got there early. It's first come first serve. The IH guys wanted that spot for a club raffle display. According to the JD fellows, they just picked my tractor up and carried it. Didn't bother to even roll it!

I'll be your IH friend  I'll tell all my new IH friends you are cool and can hang with us :romance-grouphug: Just kidding, no way :kbutt::-D

I still would not Touch A Mahindra with a 10-foot Pole

If I hadn't known Cleo Franklin,  I don't think we would ever gotten My Friend's Tractor fixed, I think the Lawsuit would have gone forward.   Took 6 Months to get replacement Parts On a Tractor that had issues coming off the Trailer  and Mahindra factory Rep saying My friend Damaged His Tractor  and it hadn't even come off the Trailer from the dealer and Leaking Hydraulic fluid do to a Cracked Transmission case  actually several cracks In It   and that was Just the 1st Issue.  The Loader ended Up Being a Basket case of Problems. He got every cent back and then some,  and Has Been Happy with His Kioti  CK series Tractor ever since. The Mahindra was a 1535. The Parts' replacement was the Biggest Issue and this was Pre-Covid, I Put Mahindra  in this Category Great tractor Until You Have an Issue. Then run don't walk away   There are a few John Deere Models I even Put In that Category 2210, 2305 & 2320 Known for Driveshaft and  rear PTO issues That said I Haven't Had an Issue with Deere trying to weasel out of it's warranty Like Mahindra tried   I have only seen that with One other Manufacturer and that was Husqvarna with their heavy-duty frame My foot (stamped Garden tractor Frame) So in my Opinion  Those two companies are weasels when it comes to warranty issues.

Even His Mahindra Dealer stopped being a Mahindra dealer recently, I think they Carry New Holland Now. As they Had Issues  with Getting Parts in to do warranty repairs  for other Customers. I would say his dealer was Partly at fault for not checking the Tractor Before they Loaded it for Delivery. But they were excellent during the whole messed Up Process with Mahindra

Yes their are rude people, snobs and worse at every show and just as well friendly, sharing and supportive people who make a great show and remembrance.

You do tend to remember the bad things too but you have to realize a lot of the shows we go to have volunteers and limited oversight over things that go in the field.   Some of the shows I have attended act like the operators/club members are doing you a favor to give you any information or assistance with your attendance at their show.

Not everyone has attended the same show for twenty years!  Big vs small shows really do not make much difference either from my experience.  I use to attend six or seven a year.   I am now down to two or three.

But it still applies that we do get to see some of our friends at the shows we attend!

You've got diehard fanstics in everything, they will not look any other way and get deeply offended at the very idea of some alternative brand.  I started out with wheelhorse, i love em...got 5, would add to that.  But i also have or have had Cub, Craftsman (roper), Deere, Mitsubishi, simplicity, snapper...and i liked them all.

Back years ago *think 2000* before websites, we had Yahoogroups and one year i made the joke that I was headed for the big show with a cub cadet to hook chains.  Half the group got the joke and was like come on son.  The other half was deeply offended and 2 people even went as far as to threaten me with violence.  The group split up over it...and the diehard WH guys split from the tractor enthusiasts who loved WH also.

As for the Deere guys at the plow day, they are probably confident in their equipment and just wanted to get their plows in the ground...ive got a 420 and 425, they are very robust Super GTs.  When you stop and think about it though, a Wheel Horse was taken out of action by a lift cable, ive broken a lift cable too...poor design that was never really addressed over 40 some odd years of design.

Based on what I have read here, I guess I am one of the word snobs that frequents this forum.  I not only own an old David Bradley two wheel walking tractor, with most of its original gardening equipment, but also a Yanmar 240D, a John Deere 4003, and I inherited an L245H Kubota from Dad, in addition to having three Wheel Horse tractors.  A 1978 C-141, I purchased new, and more recently I found a '95 312/8, and then a '96 314/8 with the 50TH Anniversary Year gold hood ornament.  And there was an International Harvester 140 in the past.  Unless I overlooked it, I did not see where anyone considered a Yanmar, or an old David Bradley owner as snobs.  But three of the four brands I currently own, not including the W/H's seems to indicate I am a snob.

I can assure you folks there are snobs driving a Yugo and super nice dude's driving Mercedes Benz auto's.  It is not what they own, or drive that makes them a slob, but it is rather what drives them.

Many of you may have heard the old saying, but I think it might be a good time to repeat it, for any who are not aware of the saying, but at the end of the day, when the dust settles, there are greater differences within any brand of tractors, than there are between the various brands of tractors.  (And I am speaking of the major brands, not crappy chinese imports, or some other off the wall never before heard of brand!)

Enjoy what you got, and don't knock what you don't!
