So many people I know happily pick holes in all my projects, point out mistakes etc, but none of them are brave enough to try anything themselves - so therefore they achieve nothing in life.

I often look back at our busy life and the mistakes we made, some of them huge, but I wouldn't change anything as they are generally the defining moments that put you on the correct path.

We used to call those folks that laid back and criticized the "Monday Morning Quarterbacks" - I just referred to them as "The Tinkle Team"... guttless never- did-a-darn thing miserable folks...

Sadly there seem to be more of them than people that just get on with it!

This tractor had a rough life. It flipped over when the original owner was using it and when we picked it up(saved it) it had a pine tree on top of it. The hood looked worse but I bent it enough to get it to latch. 😆

He is the driving force behind all

our WheelHorse projects. Mama had to come out in the garage to tell us to stop working for the night at 10 of 9pm.. it’s a school night 😂

We @TonyToro Jr. worked on and off all week on MaTer. We smashed on the hood some more and it opens and closes well. Yesterday the carburetor was cleaned and rebuilt. MaTer runs!

It doesn’t like to start so easily though. I might have to mess with it some more. It takes 5-10 pulls total to get it to fully run. Starting in choke, it’s 1-2 pulls. It runs and dies quickly. I switch to half choke, pull 2-3 times and runs dies after 10 seconds or so. Then 2-3 pulls off choke. I adjusted the idle by ear and sounds about right to me. It does run well through all rpm once it’s running. Restarting is more difficult than cold start for some reason. I guess more bench time…. 😆

We still have to get another tube for the front tire and a pair for front wheel bearings.

The next thing we will be working on is the front rack.

Them carbs can be a tad temperamental which can cause your temper and mental issues.

Another cleaning out will likely help.

I have a B & S 8 HP on Trina's first tractor and restoration project, Pony.

It's ignition has been changed to the Pertronix module. Definitely started easier after that.

I’m not sure what it has for ignition. I was just hoping to bolt this engine in and run it but it’s turning into.. Another … project. We worked on the pulling tractors today but we will look into it’s starting issue more tomorrow.

@TonyToro... I say this with the best intentions, PLEASE put some safety glasses on that kid!

Anything can happen, and anything with eyes is a horrible injury that you never really recover from! :bow-blue:

Thank you for the concern. I appreciate it!

We do practice and apply safety here.

@TonyToro

I couldn't put my eyes to that module.

Some of my shop space is fairly well organized and some of it could hide an elephant 🐘. A BIG 🐘🐘

@formariz I believe has experimented with them maybe?
