mvecchia 1 #1 Posted April 30, 2022 The upper LH side of my hood cracked when lifting hood assembly to check the oil before mowing. Looking to purchase replacement, but listed as obsolete from all parts suppliers. I have taped it together (see photo) as best I can, but I'd like to keep this 1995 in as pristine shape as possible. Any ideas would be appreciated.
Lee1977 6,777 #2 Posted April 30, 2022 I have used fiberglass cloth and super glue on the back side of interior plastic car panels. Don't know if that would work for your hood.
mvecchia 1 #3 Posted April 30, 2022 Thanks Lee1977! I appreciate your suggestion and it may come to that. I was thinking I'd be able to salvage one, but if not, I will likely bring to auto body shop and have them work their magic. Thanks again!
Rotten Ralphy 0 #4 Posted September 3, 2022 Were you able to get it repaired? I have the sane issue with mine?
mvecchia 1 #5 Posted September 3, 2022 Not yet, RR...my black duct tape is still holding up and looking kind of stylish, but I'm holding out for a salvage or a body shop repair to bring it back to original condition. Thanks for checking in and good luck with your tractor!
Rotten Ralphy 0 #6 Posted September 3, 2022 I have yet to find anyone who can tell me what material the hood is made out of in my search for an adhesive that will bond it back together.
hcminis 1,557 #7 Posted September 4, 2022 I have the same problem with my 268. The grille has several cracks in it also. Currently the tractor is stripped down and getting repainted. Anyway, I was lucky enough that Lowell found an NOS top hood section for me. Then I also found two nice side panels. Did find an NOS front grille from a dealer but can’t justify $500.00 shipped for it. You can also find parts for these by searching New Holland LS25, LS35, LS45, and LS55. There is an NOS hood top on eBay right which is what you are wanting. Be prepared to pay a good price and you’ll have to paint it. Hope this helps you
Rotten Ralphy 0 #8 Posted September 4, 2022 I found this add on Facebook marketplace this morning in Michigan. I can't swing it, but thought I would put it out there.

mvecchia 1 #11 Posted September 4, 2022 Thank you; I appreciate the cross reference to New Holland. I did not know there was compatibility between these brands...
