BobbyD218 7 #1 Posted April 29, 2022 (edited) Good Day, WH enthusiasts!! It's time to till my plots with my Troy-bilt, but it was a no start. I was towing it up an incline when the sucker fell over and cracked beyond repair the M8 fuel tank. The tank was a pain in the butt to fully remove, even with only two bolts at the top plate holding it to the engine, and the fuel line. Where the problem occurs is at the bottom of the tank where there is a plate bolted to the engine above the starter with two pins fitting into an indent in the plastic tank. I had to completely destroy the plastic in order to remove it fully. I have more than a few WH's, and figured I'd use a non running 308 for it's tank. I'm having the same problem!! I don't want to destroy the tank to take it out, but the darned thing is really busting my balls. I'm concerned that too much force might crack the hell out it!! What I thought were tabs on the bottom are bolts, and even after I destroyed the already ruined tank to remove it, I still couldn't tell that it was screwed down. The only way to locate and remove those bottom fasteners was to take out the starter to get enough clearance and sight to work under there.
