Tfarver 22 #1 Posted April 29, 2022 (edited) Couple new fellas. Picked up for 100$ For the pair. Came with 2 pair of aftermarket steel weights on the ex pulling tractor. Motor on the ranger is 241s that is free n feels to have decent compression. The 2 speed rear on the ranger is very hard to get in gear and will only go in one, reverse if I remember correctly. Never split a uni drive, guess we will crack it open n see what’s what. Edited April 29, 2022 by Tfarver Photo edit 7

Tfarver 22 #3 Posted April 29, 2022 (edited) Yes it’s a 4 speed but has the high-low option sorry I should have specified that Edited April 29, 2022 by Tfarver
pfrederi 18,337 #8 Posted April 29, 2022 Ranger or did you mean Raider...Ranger were 6 hp lawn tractors A K241 10 hp would be on something bigger.
Tfarver 22 #9 Posted April 30, 2022 It’s a ranger that I believe someone was trying to start a pulling tractor with. The motor is literally held to the frame with some kind of j bolt brackets n other misc hardware haha.
Handy Don 13,340 #10 Posted April 30, 2022 Actually, the J-bolts were factory for certain engines with oil pan holes that didn't fall on the frame where a standard bolt could be used.
Tfarver 22 #11 Posted April 30, 2022 I have seen what u speak of on other models but this homemade setup involved torch cut brackets and some sort of push-pull wedge bolt to “tension” the drive belt I suppose
