nfg 2 #1 Posted April 21, 2022 How do I adjust the blade belts. wheel horse 520 model 7350
gwest_ca-(File Mod) 11,036 #2 Posted April 21, 2022 There is no adjustment made by operator. This is an older parts list that describes how some of it works. https://www.partstree.com/models/05-42ms05-toro-42-side-discharge-mower-deck-1987/rear-discharge-mower-42-in-107-cm-vehicle-identification-number-05-42mr04-3/ Item #10 is the idler support bar that must be free to slide under spring pressure. That should apply the correct belt tension.
daveoman1966 3,745 #3 Posted April 21, 2022 The Flat Idler Pulley Bar...'J' has to be FREE FLOATING to maintain belt tension. Clippings and debris often accumulate under that bar, precluding free travel. The NYLON guides (H1 and H2) may be contributory if they are worn out. There is no adjustment.
peter lena 8,589 #4 Posted April 21, 2022 @daveoman1966 , agree with that , that is a regularly neglected area , found those nylon guides at a local true value H/W store , small drawer pullout section , personally use a , silicone grease on them , also lubricate the related carrier linkage , that idler pulley is prone to bearing grease failure , causing an increase in belt bounce . pete
Lee1977 6,648 #5 Posted April 22, 2022 The nylon guides and keeping that area clean has been covered. I have also found that replacing the spring after thirty years also helps. I had to replace the spring on the deck of my 520 last year because it broke.
