Frustrated with Attach-a-matic

Recommended Posts

Peter in NH

New to me 520, low hours but not well maintained. I am unable to open belt tensioning arm despite backing off the tension adjustment and loosening pivot bolt. PO must have hit something and bend the plate the rod is welded to so it was binding in the slot. I bent back into position so there is clearance top and bottom. Still can't budge it. I greased the tube the front pulleys ride on but I can't pivot them. I want to get this apart so I can give it some love. One of the front wheel mounts broke off and I need to get the deck off so I can have it welded. Grass is greening up here in NH and I want to be ready.

Please HELP!

Thanks, Peter

Use a 2x4 and a BFH to tap the bent mule drive down out of the slots.   Get a brave helper to hold in the release rod while you pound on the mule drive.

If your new to Wheel Horse to release the front hitch push in the spring latch and pull the release to the front. I have had them to jam in place and had to tap the release with a hammer.

The Mule Drive belt tension also works backward to loosen the tension turn to the right..
