I've been enjoying going through the picture galleries, stories of WH modifications and customizations, etc., and  Brlly1/John shows up a lot in those.  Must have been quite a good guy to know and is missed.

Is there a bio, obituary, or other back story about him and his life?  I would be interested to know more, if you can share what's already written or take a few minutes to write and share your thoughts.  Thanks!

@davern1111, We used to have a Big Ten football pool thread every year.  Brrly was one of us guys that looked forward to the season.  If you want to have some good reading (at times the thread got real competitive) and see what John was about, check this out.  Copy and paste this in the search box.   "Big Ten football"  use the quotation marks if you just type it.  Brrly was born and raised an Iowa Hawkeye fan, but he lived in Toledo for many years.  :occasion-xmas:

Happy Birthday John...RIP !!!

This was one of John's favorites...

I read his obituary and some of the Big Ten stuff.  Tried to find a picture of his Harley but came up dry so far. I'm not a Harley guy - I've owned 7 or 8 bikes over the years but all Japanese. But I do appreciate any cool bike.

Anyway, I can see why John is missed around here and certainly by his family.

Anyone know what happened to that articulated WH beast?  That thing is seriously cool.

Went to a good home then. I know if I built something like that, that's what I'd want to happen.

John sold me a 603 that I redid about four years ago.  I drive to Toledo to pick it up.   The picture is an after redo photo.

john was always extremely helpful to me at getting information on early tractors .

His front weight redo project taught a lot of us about a Wheel Horse part few of us had seen in the original!

He was one of best contributions to keeping Wheel Horse going!

Might I ask who this D J Harrison is? Member search didn't come up with one... B)  Since I live in Indiana, I might want to inquire about the possibility of seeing that tractor in person sometime.  I am very intrigued by awesome mods like this.

Oh, by the way @Lane Ranger ,  I noticed in your photo album that you have a variety of attachments, and the sickle bars caught my eye.  Do those fit on a 1987 312-A or 1989 416-8?

(Don't mean to hijack the brrly1 thread -  I'll PM if that's better.)

I'm sure John would approve of our horse talk.

I'm quite certain he would approve of this......

sorry for the late response.  Yup, I am the proud owner of the big GT16 4x4.  Plus own the other two pictured above as mentioned.  All three are Rock built.

Here are a few more pics. Duals don’t stay on all the time. Can’t turn sharp and it makes the tractor very heavy. I’m sure John would love it now just as he did when Bob built it for him.

RIP Big Guy
