bo dawg 516 #1 Posted April 18, 2022 Im looking at so many fuel pumps for the 1982 C-175 KT17s with so many different P#s. Not sure whats what. Then do I go with vacuum or electric. 953 nut 55,298 #4 Posted April 18, 2022 I switched several of my Wheel Horses over to electric fuel pumps and the hard starting problems went away. Mount it on the frame lower than the tank, wire it to a circuit that is powered when the key is on (like the hour meter) and protect it with a fuse (5 amps is fine). 6 1 Share this post Link to post Share on other sites

My 520 #3 is the only tractor I have that has one. Turn the key & listen for the pump to change pitch as the bowl fills and she fires right up. pacer 3,173 #12 Posted April 18, 2022 Electric, hands down!! and the Facet .... type? is preferable (there are after mkt clones (square shaped) also and I have had good luck with them) The MANY electrics shown on the bay can be ... overwhelming? I used the cheapy 2-3 psi jungle ones on customers tractors with no issues. Yah Pacer worried about how long they would last cause guys report they had issues. Couple out there for two three years now and no complaints. The carb float should keep the engine from flooding out but if the carb inlet has got crap in it all bets are off. Filter in front of the pump then. I know when @dclarke put one on my 520 he used a better one but he's a classy guy! I would wire it to the positive of the coil. If a safety switch is activated, the pump will shut down when 12V is removed from the coil. Much safer in my opinion, as it stops gas from pumping if the tractor flips over, and you're thrown off the seat. 3 Share this post Link to post Share on other sites
