Spline Washer or no Spline Washer?

Recommended Posts

I have the replacement parts for this 90-1137 Sundstrand.

Spline Washer is a 15 spline, 106641,very illusive!

Pump Shaft 200213

Coupling 102622

Coupling Driven 103029

I have these on a shelf for years! Now, is it imperative to track down the Spline Washer & Washers, or can I put it back as original with grease?

The original Pump Shaft from the 18 Auto didn't have a threaded hole. That is why I think this one to be 200213

There was mention of this threaded hole being utilized to help retain the Driven Coupling?

Toro/ Wheel Horse just start using this same shaft for all Sundstrand applications?

The 18 Auto, seems to be the predecessor to the D-Series.

The Spline Washer and other parts found in the 1978 Service Bulletin, were not used early on, as my old Pump Shaft can attest too!

Cant give any specific info on that splined .... washer/spacer? except to say in all 5 of the D's I have owned I never ran across one.

Now that coupler ----- is VERY elusive, handle it with love and care!! I didnt even need one, but when one popped up here on the forum for sale recently, I jumped on it ..... the last one that broke on me took 6-8 months of searching before I found a replacement.

Space,,,Just wonder if a man could make one from an old sunstand hydro pulley by slicing it off the end that slide on the shaft. IDK.

I had a D and it crapped the splines off of the coupler. I think if that spacer was not there that would engage better.

Yes, I'm on the fence about it, had replaced the pump over ten years with semi-strong pump  (should've rebuilt it first) it was from another unit running 10-w30 as was the motor. Not having a spline issue per say, but would like more power. I will rebuild the original and follow the tutorials found here, I seen that idea on here awhile back, this one.

Exactly, I seen this one and the Drive Coupling on here way back then, even found a used splined shaft in great shape an  d jumped on it. I believe that was "D" Man. I had found him again, he offered one but never replied? Odd. I seen also the 18 Auto never had one nor did it have threads in the end of the shaft for whatever reason. I imagine the Service Bulletin came out for to address this issue.
