WHX?? 48,828 #3 Posted April 4, 2022 (edited) If you plan on ruining the patina on that 753 I ain't gonna tell ya Phil! I generally use the one on the right with good results but not a big fan of Rustolem products these days. I use the same Ace stuff on rims. Color is good enough for the women we go out with and covers well & cures fast. Comes out of the can very nice. Just did a trailer rim with jt. Don't have the red color at my Ace but would like to try it. Edited April 4, 2022 by WHX??

Brockport Bill 1,668 #5 Posted April 4, 2022 i have used all -- they do have minor difference in the look--------- so depending if you try to plan to match prior factory red on the tractor..... or if the entire tractor is being redone? susggest you do a couple test pieces and compare in outdoor light

This is for it's younger (but bigger) brother the Charger 12. Since the Charger is my plow horse I'm planning to do a full tear-down and rebuild this summer.

ri702bill 8,328 #9 Posted April 5, 2022 I have brought this up before - stand your rattle cans up in a pan of faucet hot water for about 20 minutes before use - a tip I used from my old model car building days. Doing this thins the paint and raises the pressure in the can - just remember to dry the outside of the can off first!! Bill
midpack 866 #10 Posted April 5, 2022 Dupli-Color DE1653 red is a better quality (automotive) paint and it matches well

Gettin real old tossing a half a can. Correct you are @ri702bill Boyles law of gasses ... https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Boyle's_law My problem is I got no time for this when in the giterdone mode & the valve inside the can plugs up. squonk 41,150 #12 Posted April 5, 2022 I've probably sprayed 100 cans of Rustoleum and have had the nozzles clog but another nozzle keeps the job goin. Never had to throw away half a can . Youse guys probably jinxed me now. I got 2 engines to spray this summer. We'll find out!

Been there done that Squonky but robbing a new nozzle off a can did not work. Neither did heating up the can with a blow torch.... Dear old dad taught me to old skool to hold the can upside down and clear the paint out when done. Edited April 5, 2022 by WHX??
