41chevy 74 #1 Posted March 28, 2022 1976 B 80, 5190 8 speed trans shifter Allen screw (PN 915111 ) I’ve looked for an hour and given up, is it a half bite or full bite lock screw and is it a hardened screw. Also due you bottom it in the hole then lock it or back it up a hair off bottom then lock it? Thx Steve

I bottom it gently, then back off until the shifter is just able to access all the gears smoothly and easily--it'll feel a bit "loose"--then I tighten the lock nut while holding the dog point in place with the hex wrench.

WHX?? 49,149 #6 Posted March 29, 2022 (edited) I can look and see if I have them and send you one. Cost ya a cupojoe and price of a stamp. I have made one in a pinch. 1/4-20 x 3/4 long set screw in the Hillman drawers at any bigger hardware store. Just grind the threads off the first 1/8" or so. one inch ones work too. Think my homemade one is still on a tractor. I have 20 tractors so which one!?!?!? Don't over tighten this can happen ..... Hey I was a newbie!
