Pictures of the sides showing the engine, engine data label, and side views of the tractor would be very helpful. Unless this serial has been reported and identified by a member, and since these records are not exhaustive, the S/N can be inconclusive.

This could be a lot of models.

I’m thinking it is an 854. Your serial number 47428 is in line with the serial numbers listed in the Wheel Horse reference section on this forum for the 854 model. I have an 854 Wheel Horse with serial number 47547.   -JD-

It has a k181 with the early vacuum fuel pump with no lever with a starter/generator but wasn’t sure if it was a 753 with a swapped engine…pics soon

It sure looks like my 854. Mine has the same tires front & rear as yours has, & the same 2 spoke steering wheel. But I do believe the engine has been swapped though. The engine serial number in your picture is dated as being built in 1984. Also the  spec number for my Kohler 8HP engine is 30108D (yours is 30536) which I believe mine to be from the mid 1960’s. It’s also possible that the blower housing that the engine numbers are on has been the part that has been swapped. A1984 Kohler engine would have had a Bendix style starter. -JD-

Surprise!! Two shift levers! NOT an original 854 (I did the 1979 C81 Unidrive swap on my 854 a few years back - the model that Cecil & Elmer never built, but should have...) In 1st low this thing could climb walls straight up as long as it did not lean out...

Check list for 5060 or 5071:

- 1.125" axle

- brake drum on the shaft close to the rear axle (vs. the more forward and lower shaft)

- no hole for a dipstick on top at the right rear

- jack up rear end and turn one rear wheel by hand--opposite rear wheel should turn in the same direction (limited slip differential)

I can see that your's has a dipstick (plugged) so likely a 5073 or later.

Also, it looks like the input pulley on the transmission is a "fan" style (5"?) that would have been on a hydro transmission. Normal 854 would have been 2.5" on the engine and 4" on the transmission.  There was an optional "PTO" package a couple years later which put larger pulleys on both the trans and the engine.

854 frames, like yours, had a bolt-on (vs later welded on) battery box. It looks like your fenders are welded to the underseat toolbox--originally they were bolted.

No way to tell from the outside if the fuel pump is lever or vacuum pulse--same housing on both.

953 nut

:WRS:

:text-coolphotos:         854 is a great looking tractor with enough power to do a lot of work and look good at the same time.       :handgestures-thumbupright:

Hope you saved that seat, the crop of moss should be ready for harvest soon!

Isn't that one of those new "green" enviro-seats? :)
