Before and After

Does anyone have pictures of what one of your WH's looked like when you brought it home compared to what it looks like now ?  Under the Side Shot Saturday thread on post # 1481 and 1483 I mentioned about almost driving past a 418-A when I saw it thinking it was a bit rough. It is by no means a mint one owner machine but has cleaned up fairly nice and does what a wheel horse is supposed to do, work without complaining, and it does just that.

A very good friend of ours owned this wheel horse since almost new? , his son ran for a awhile turned 18 and decided he didn't want it.  They gave it to us, I restored it.   I hope someday he asks for it back to return to his family.

Seems like @SylvanLakeWH and I are members of a fraternity of previous owners of @Pullstart Ranch s.  The 953 now dubbed Hot Wheels was a sorry mess when I brought it home.

I don’t have the ability to restore my tractors myself so for my birthday and the big show of 2017 my son, cousin and friend ( can’t forget @Vinylguy help too ) slapped on some lipstick on my 1995 520H and turned it into my 520 Wheel-a-Matic .

As mentioned in @SylvanLakeWH’s Ugh post last night… Before, Finished, and After a “Field Trip”.  It didn’t last long, it’s been raining for 2 days straight and we made it maybe 100 yards into the field before the efforts to turn around and head to the pressure washer

Heres a few of some older ones i did.

Another recent make over. The usual re paint both side covers because of the factory no primer method. Biggest issue was swapping the tranny because of PO letting water into the trans and popped out the cast iron in a few places. Good side was the replacement had the 1 1/8'' axles. Some donated tins @Sparky a big Thank You. And as usual plenty of labor, sanding and small parts replacement.

Well here's our other full total restoration. 

Trina's Military Tribute Tractor, "Millie". 

 

Started out as an 856 that was sent up by @Herder Adam. 

 

Add some @Sparky rims and tires. An engine from a '68 Raider (for a bit). 

@Vinylguy Terry supplied the excellent decals.

This  1986 312-8 was in decent shape tin wise but the PO apparently used it as a bulldozer. It was purchased in February of 2000 with a 42''RD deck, 48'' plow, dump cart ,2 rear rims and tires. Parts were bought through WH dealer including 4 Carlisle turf savers , Toro paint and all parts to rebuild the mower deck as well. K-Series engine and Transmission needed no work. Total parts came to $ 873.00 . Sold this in July of 2001 to a friend who recently sold it to his brother. It lives on.
