bit of a Barbarian, I am.  Find it, see it, kill it.

I convinced myself that I understand the situation from a simpler position: :P

Creatures that bite, sting, or even mark a boundary will use the most lethal force they can individually or collectively muster to attack an intruder. As such, I reserve the right to apply the same principals to an intruder on my territory. End of discussion.

If the idiot wants to blow himself up I have no problem with that.  But please put the dogs in a safe place first!     :soapbox:

Yes they are.  Last few years seeing more of them.  These were some drones in late fall.  The queens are more orange

I don't have anything to sting with but I would absolutely do the other two things.

Hang that puppy in a shed where Carpenter Bee's are tunneling and making a mess, it is a natural deterrent (at least that's what is said about hornet nests since they are a natural enemy to the bees)

All you folks and your nasty digging biting eating stinging insects and poisonous snakes makes me glad I live where we get a good strong freeze every year.

We have Timber Rattlers occasionally but they're so rare Inland Fisheries doesn't declare that they exist anymore.

Other than that I wish we had more snakes because they're great for rodent control.
