danweikert21 166 #1 Posted March 22, 2022 Hey everyone I need to replace the stator on my raider 10 model 1-0301. I’m looking for a stator I can run at least 2 led lights ( one for the front and one for the back ) do you think a 15 amp stator could handle that. And if there are bigger stators that fit on a Kohler k241s I would love to know about them. Thanks
Pullstart 62,867 #2 Posted March 22, 2022 You might be able to do as Stefan @Tractorhead did and wind your own…. He has some pretty detailed parts on his Bavarian Wheel Horse thread.

danweikert21 166 #4 Posted March 22, 2022 If a 15 amp stator would work that is fine too.
Handy Don 12,222 #5 Posted March 22, 2022 If you use LED lights, you could do two bright lights with 2-3 amps max.
danweikert21 166 #6 Posted March 22, 2022 Meaning it would only use 2-3? My plan is to have a short led bar go in place of the original lights and then to have a small led light in the back ( just bright enough to see what I’m doing when I back up when it’s dark )

For example, this light bar uses 18watts. 18w ÷ 12v = 1.5 amps. A small marker light for the rear would be about 8w (.66 amps). Together about 2.2 amps.
pfrederi 17,739 #8 Posted March 22, 2022 15 amps is what ran 70 watts of incandescent headlights with out a problem. LED will not tax it at all. 6
danweikert21 166 #9 Posted March 22, 2022 Thanks for that. Your equation really helped 1

WHX?? 48,815 #11 Posted March 22, 2022 (edited) If you have access to a DMM Dan you can easily measure the amount of current the lights use. Best practice is fuse the lights with a less than 15 amp fuse. These lights Drew this So I fused them all at 10 amps which is well below the 20 amp output of the tractor. Ohm law is a great tool to have in one's tool box but I like to see it for real. The rated wattage can be different than what the manufacturer says and actual battery voltage plays a part. Also led's are rated in an equivalent wattage which can throw a monkey wrench into calculations. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=HsLLq6Rm5tU Edited March 22, 2022 by WHX??

SylvanLakeWH 25,557 #15 Posted March 23, 2022 The guys got you covered… led’s no problem. BTW - Regarding not knowing or applying Ohms law, no worries… they’re letting everyone out of jail who has been convicted of violating it, and are expunging their records… you’ll be fine.

Thanks for the idea
peter lena 8,626 #21 Posted March 23, 2022 @danweikert21 , that battery ground bolt point is a good spot to add a battery cable to the engine to frame bolt , next to clutch pedal , from there , I go to a 10-12 ga wire to the ignition rectifier on engine tin cooling bolt mount , increasing ground to that point , then from that to headlights ground , tell me how that works . that enhances total wiring grounding , easy to do , pete
