AHS 1,440 #1 Posted March 20, 2022 Ok, what year is this? The model number is faded so bad you can’t see it. It has a 6 terminal key switch. The key switch is new and the solenoid is new… but it won’t start by the key. The seat switch has three wires… not two like you’d normally expect. It must be the clutch or PTO switch? I have one wiring diagram, but it’s the wrong one due to the wire colors and the seat switch having two wires. I’m stumped, I’m all ears!😀 Share this post Link to post Share on other sites

The wire from the "S" terminal of the key switch goes to half of the PTO switch, then to the clutch switch before going to the oil century relay and finally to one of the small terminals on the solenoid, the other small terminal goes to ground. If you use a small jumper wire from the battery "+" to the ungrounded small terminal of the solenoid it should close and the starter turn over. The seat switch has nothing to do with starting, it turns off the ignition when the PTO is on and you are out of the seat. 1986 to 1989 had the maroon decal set.
