bell 11 #1 Posted June 29, 2009 I hadn't been at the show for 30 minutes when I spotted this... a 550 Suburban Also picked up a pretty nice Suburban snow thrower... And... a Suburban dozer blade... A few misc. pieces/ parts... A k161 from Duke... (got it running today Bob, runs GREAT!!! THANK YOU!) And, luckily, I found a dump cart in my price range... What did y'all find? Butch 194 #2 Posted June 29, 2009 I scored 3 free hot dogs from Duke and MJ!! Seriously though I know nothing about Wheel Horses and have just a little knowledge of my 314-8. What I was truly amazed by was the price of the attachments. That stuff is expensive. Wheel Horse shoulda gave away their tractors so they coulda made more money from selling attachments. I saw some decent looking 300/400 Series tractors in the $500 range. You could spend more than that to put a mower deck on one! About 5 years ago I bought a new mid mount grader from Toro. I could probably get more for it than I paid for it. Butch S. Jersey
bell 11 #3 Posted June 29, 2009 Yes, The attachments were bringing a LOT of money... I hunted and hunted until I found this stuff... Luckily, I got pretty good deals on this stuff! :thumbs2:

CasualObserver 3,410 #6 Posted June 29, 2009 Jon, did you haul an empty trailer there or rent a U-Haul to come home? Nice purchases. Edit: Nevermind... just saw your trailer in your show pics!

Sparky-(Admin) 22,087 #8 Posted June 30, 2009 Picked up a pair of 23x10.50's on the wide rims. They're 8.5" rims I think off a 520. Hopefully I can get a pulling tractor ready for some fall pulls and these wheels/tires should be great. Grabbed a few misc small parts like springs and shifter boots as well just to have in stock at home as the local TORO guy has switched brands and now its a much farther ride for parts from a dealer. Bought shifter boots for $4(no tax). Is that good? Whats a dealer get? Mike........
stevebo-(Moderator) 8,398 #9 Posted June 30, 2009 I was able to find a front mower deck carrier from Mrs. Bearpath, a mint 520 seat that I ended up selling and giving some of the profit back to Mrs. Bearpath (long story) I then moved over to Eldon and purchased 2 sets of front tires and a set of rears for Uncle Bo and my Dad. I also bought a NOS 42 inch rear discharge mulching deck insert from Eldon. Both he and Mr & Mrs. Bearpath let us keep outr goodies safe with them while we shopped. In fact when it was time to round up all our goodies Mr & Mrs B let me take one of they're tractors with the front mounted hanger on it to bring it all back to the trailer out in the field. It took two trips. We bought a 4hp Kohler from Bill Jenkins. Another guy next to Bill sold me a very nice 48 inch snowplow set up. Then I moved over to find two roundhood mower deck and one came with a 502 frame and dash tower. Uncle Bo found a NOS 520 plowframe extension bracket, spare hydro set up for a 520, a second 42 inch recycler insert, tires and other odds and ends. All in all a very nice haul for us. Being from the northeast and especially CT we found the prices to be reasonable for the most part. There were a few vendors who were asking top dollar for attachments but I suppose they still have them. We did most of the buying on Thursday afternoon which was good. Being there with cash in hand was like a kid in the candy store. I loved it !! Needless to say, the trailer was full on the way back home and the wife did not give me a hard time. I guess she understands it is a sickness.... Steve Bo-
rwilson 128 #10 Posted June 30, 2009 I scored a k-90 short block from Mr Jenkins. I also picked up some decals for the 120 and the Suburban, and I also bought a fender for a suburban. I didn,t have much spendin money with the baby 2 monthe away but all in all I thought I did ok. Had I had a truck and a little more cash I would have brought home some bigger things. Had a great time. See you all next year.
Coadster32 793 #11 Posted June 30, 2009 Sorry I missed you at the show Bell. I heard you were on the round corner between the two center rows. I was there Sat. only. Anyhow, I did manage to pickup a "tranny in a box". Hi,low, cluster, spline shaft, upper, and lower cluster gears, for a 3 speed for $25. Perfect timing as I need to rip open the tranny on my 854. I got one of those slate welcome signs (wife was with me). Has a painted roundhood on it. Got a show shirt, and the wife got a nice sweatshirt. Now for the bomb-diggetty. I have been waiting for THE set of embossed chrome 8 and 12inch hubcaps to come along... and there they were. (dream-weaver..) A guy was starting to pack up, and he said $100 firm. (good in my book) I reached in my pocket any quikly pulled out $75. (that's not $100). My plan, and goal, was to put everything on this trip on the debit card, and pay cash for things only at the show. The night before, I paid cash for dinner, and waffle house in the morning. (Dam it!!) I didn't mope long, as I promptly set eyes on no-throttles puller We stopped and ate at Chilis when we left. (fill the belly tank for the 5hr ride back). My wife said to me,"Don't you useually keep money tucked away in your wallet?" I almost threw up! $40 stashed away. I had the money the whole time. That's my story, and I'm sticking to it. dieselhorse 0 #12 Posted June 30, 2009 now why cant I find that nice of a suburban?? Sure wish I could have gone to the big show this year, great finds there! If anybody comes with with a Suburban as nice as this one or is looking to sell one, I am on the hunt. getting tired of pushing the mower around our yard, and my big cub cadet is to large for our yard, we use it for mowing a friends property that would take hours with a Suburban. Looks like everybody had a great time! Cheers Mike
stevebo-(Moderator) 8,398 #13 Posted June 30, 2009 Chris, You always have to check the "rathole" for $$$ :thumbs2:
Coadster32 793 #14 Posted July 1, 2009 Hey Deiselhorse, a guy at the show had a nice one for sale. $350. I wanted the Kohler off it, and he wouldn't take it off. Then I heard about a 10 minute lecture on why I sould not bother looking for a kohler over tecumseh. (sounded alot like my ex.)
