Chasing Tractors what are you bringing home?

Recommended Posts

This is the time when I'm wanting to buy machines. I really don't need anything else but well......you know!

Show you latest additions or addictions.

Picked up this xi for the parts and deck. No engine.

I am really wanting to do one of those, but they come up for sale when I am just not ready.

I used a motor controller, made by Curtis PMC, on small electric vehicles in the past. I figure those micro processor unit are even better now.

My vote Joe, you build an EXi out of that carcass you just hauled home.  That would be unique!

Handy Don

My neighbor, who works for Tesla, put a dead "power wall" out for the "large item trash pickup" on Wednesday and the village guys just threw it up into their truck. I sure hope someone at the other end knows how to deal with those things! If I had the slightest idea what to do with that stuff (and the time to work on it), I'd have grabbed the hand truck and wheeled it home. Even to get the sheet metal with the Tesla logo might've been interesting.

The last three were a C 160 and two black hoods of the 145 persuasion. Including two mower decks and a front blade and an extra set of ags.

All that for a half a grand. Three for the one sixty with deck and two hundred for the other tractors. That was 2020 in the fall and stimulus checks were months before.

I took a chance on all non running engines and they all run with only one being tired..

That was then and conditions now with high fuel and other prices, it will either be a bargain year or prices may keep going higher for our beloved machines. But a machine in good shape thaty you need for a task and can still buy for a thousand dollars is ten times better than spending more than that for new paint and a plastic transmission

I'm constantly dragging home more toys, but up until a couple weeks ago I hadn't bought any Wheel Horses until we found this C81 with a broken rod. Hopefully the weather is nice enough tomorrow to get the engine pulled and on the bench so I can open it up and assess the damage.

Good! From our talks, I know you would make that project turn out looking factory clean!

Not motorcross but offroad. That trailer under that xi in the pic was one me and my son bult when he was in high school (20 years ago now). Built special for two quads. He rode here local, plus with his buds, would go on road trips. I later joined in somewhat with the old man version Rhino.

We got a dandy motocross place that is close. High Point Raceway in Diliiner Pa. they have has major events and those dudes flat out fly on those machines!

Not a Horse, but my latest haul. 11 hours round trip, and worth every minute… 😁

Always thought those we cool and the next best thing to a WH. The was a small mower shop a couple miles down the road that sold those machines and I would stop there from time to time for parts. Always admired those PK machines.

I'm hoping I'm chasing a tractor soon. Put me a ad in the wanted section so we'll see how it goes.

I wouldn't bring a tractor home. It takes a lot of space, isn't really effective, plus needs expenses for fuels, diesel, etc. Try checking other variants like skeets. Lately, I have discovered electric Skid steers, https://www.heming-engineering.co.uk/tractors-and-machinery/kovaco-electric-skid-steer. It will save you from so many issues and stress. It is eco-friendly, saves you from buying algae, diesel cleansers, and fuel. Basically, people are just oriented to buying tractors because they are used to the old-fashioned way. Don't be one of them, and never forget to try something new!

WHX??

Going the other way on this... going to thin the herd. Going to find a good home for ones I don't use. If I can get a barn built to house them that might change things.

Hopefully I’m going the other way too! Want to thin things out to what I like the best, and can use on a regular basis… guess it’s going to come down to what I have the most implements for, and what I can store in 1 garage bay. Too many things in the yard under tarps…

I am happy with the mix I have now.  18 here two on loan.  Everybody is inside.  I could fit in a couple more but it would be a squeeze.

Skip @Pullstart on the way over and just drop the Senior off at my house (the tractor - not @Achto)… :handgestures-thumbupright:

Bring some curds and I’ll even give you a ride on my train… :occasion-clown:

A 10x20 will house 12 tractors, 3 wide & 4 deep. :thumbs2:

I have a 10x20 shelter now, it needs more organizing, but at the moment, it has 3 G.T.’s, a Max 6x6, and a Honda 3 wheeler, plus a lot of odds and ends strewn around.
I have 5 tractors in my cellar that I really don’t want in there… one , or 2 ok, but 5 is an obstacle course. I have 4 more in my sons garage, and 10 outside under tarps… plus a mixed variety of about 40-50 implements everywhere…

safe to say it has gotten out of hand, and needs to be reeled back in!  That count does not include parts tractors, or implements for parts 🙁
