It’s doable for sure, but not for one without fab tools. @danweikert21 and @857lover… If either of you has the space, parent’s place, grandparents’… etc… I would highly suggest you young men save up and go in together and grab a welder set, grinders and some safety gear and learn yourselves how to fab. These tractors are great learning tools for you… but first grab some car hoods, or doors, or scraps and get the hang of burning two pieces of steel together WELL. It may get you further down the road than many other basic skills in life! I did say safety gear. All the people on the shows that simply close their eyes and burn stuff together… we’ll they haven’t told you about their experience in the ER and a doctor flat out calling them an idiot for welding without safety stuff. Well, I’m no doctor so that puts me on the other end of that blunt conversation in my teens. The engine used on Big block short frame 1075 etc were just flat shallow pans You can directly mount a trough pan on a long frame for sure (and probably a short frame as well). No cutting needed. You do have to put in spacers to get the crankshaft to match the height of a big base full oil pan motor. It does not interfer witht eh steering shaft. Curious why did you decide to bolt directly to the frame? Edit; Did it cause alignment issues with belt guard as the crank is in a different position??
