With out getting into politics!!!! Just wondering what you all think about making Daylight Savings permeant??

https://www.reuters.com/world/us/us-senate-approves-bill-that-would-make-daylight-savings-time-permanent-2023-2022-03-15/

This is something that I thought they should have done years ago. It sure would be nice to have a little daylight left after I got home from work during the winter, it might actually make me feel like doing something during that time.

Really doesn't make much matter to me if it stays standard or daylight savings I just wish IT WOULD STAY.

How would the deer know what time to come out and stand broadside in front of me?  How would the roosters know when to start crowing?  When are we going fishing and what time does the gate open on Thursday morning at the Big Show?

Makes sense to me.

Pick one or the other and stick with it.

As an aside, there being absolutely no impact on hours of darkness, it is amazing to me how many people don’t get that…

Agreed.

The BBT was at work last week or the week before and somebody brought up the fact that they were going to lose an hour. Like it was just gone. This is an hour that is going to go away and I will never see it again.

Oh, yeah. I can relate to that. My mother-in-law was a heavy smoker at a 2-family house we owned. Got a panic call from the other side tenant that there was an alarm going off next door and some kind of commotion - went up there just as she had knocked the smoke alarm off the ceiling and was throttling it with the blunt end of a broom. No more noise from it - just me!

That clock would eliminate my camping rule of "No drinking between 6am & 8am".

One of the times we were in Vegas, the Hotel water tasted like chlorinated pool water. I have been known to brush my teeth after breakfast with a cold beer!

Unless we go back to Standard Time that hour is lost forever.      :scared-eek:      What about Arizona, they stay on standard time all year long,   where will they find an hour to lose,      :confusion-confused:     not too sure it is reasonable to ask 7.3 million people to give up an hour just to make it confusing for @Pullstart's roosters and deer.

I bought a clock radio about twenty years ago that sets itself to the correct time when you plug it in and was programed to change itself to and now if we go to DST all year long I will have to store the clock out of sight half of the year. Congress needs to address the added expense of replacing my clock.   :angry-tappingfoot:  I'm on a fixed income and will need a Clock Subsidy if this becomes law!      :ychain:

It’s like cutting a foot length off of one end of a blanket, sewing it onto the other end, and then claiming the blanket is now a foot longer.

You get that from Squonky or most likely he get it from you?  Can I use it in a couple weeks? :D

Sylvia nailed it and now the other EB knows it ... good one on the blanket analogy guy! :handgestures-thumbupright: and Ben was trying to conserve on candles so you guys that light your homes with candles can keep day light savings. Far as the Arizonians Richard they shoulda thought of that when they hopped of the wagon... they'll live ... or move to Alaska where its 24hrs day night.

As far as the clock thing Nut you ain't completely off yer  rocker ..remember when the gov subsidized those converter boxes when TV was switched to all digital?
