thehorse 221 #1 Posted March 14, 2022 Hello all, I was wondering if anyone has ever had the threaded deck lift rod somehow shear off. If so, where did you find a replacement without being gouged for 40 bucks. thanks in advance Len
roadapples 6,983 #2 Posted March 14, 2022 You could put a bend in a piece of all thread
Lee1977 6,648 #3 Posted March 14, 2022 Those lift rods are bad to get bent and hang up. I changed mine to a chain and a couple of clevises. Got the clevises from Wheelhorse parts and More. part no. 105820 clevis $4.99 2
peter lena 8,589 #4 Posted March 14, 2022 @thehorse agree with @Lee1977 on the chain lift , bombproof , easy to make up , local H/W store . never had a threaded rod break . have them on my front steering rods with HEIM JOINTS , and also on my dozer plow rods with HEIM JOINTS . lubricate related linkage areas , make the rust run out , washer firm up end connection points , use chassis grease , should work smooth / solid / easy , keep it greasy , pete
JimSraj 429 #5 Posted March 14, 2022 I’m pretty sure that I have one. If you’re still interested let me know and I’ll look for it.

thehorse 221 #8 Posted March 14, 2022 That’s the part Jim. I may look into the chain. Lee…did 5 links seem to be the ticket?
gwest_ca-(File Mod) 11,036 #9 Posted March 15, 2022 I believe it was originally 3/8" and changed to 1/2" but do not know when that happened. Think it is this one

It's close but never found a chain that worked for a full lift as it's non adjustable. The newer Wheel Horse Decks has eye bolt with trunnion and chain that adjustable. I changed to that because mine would get bent and hang up when trying to lift the deck, the chain took care of that.
JimSraj 429 #11 Posted March 15, 2022 Yup, the rod in the picture is 3/8”x9” from the bend. I also have a 5/16”x8” or so. I don’t remember the exact length. It may have been a replacement that someone just made from what was on hand. There’s one of the 3/8” type on the 48” decks of both my GT14 and 1967 Lawn & Garden T1267. I try to keep them lightly greased and haven’t had trouble with them.
