Mickwhitt 4,624 #1 Posted March 12, 2022 Hi all. I'm a bit of a flashlight obsessive, I love novel and powerful flashlights. We don't seem to have a British built flashlight and most of those I see or buy are from overseas. Show me your go to flashlight, your every day carry, the one you use for hunting or the ones you choose for emergency use. What are the best brands, the most powerful, the most novel and neat. I will take some photos of my current flashlight choices, and give the reasons I love them. Thanks in advance Mick
Skwerl58 704 #2 Posted March 12, 2022 I have three different Maglite lights for my home. My new light is a O light high lumen with brightness levels and strobe. I also have a small Coleman high lumen that uses three AAA batteries that is a great small light. For hunting a Coleman head lamp that has multiple brightness and color settings. For my truck, cars I have a couple of the small magnetic Harbor Freight lights. Also have an Eveready hang on or magnetic light for my mechanic work. Didn't realize I had so many until you asked

stevasaurus 22,739 #6 Posted March 12, 2022 I got this Bell & Howell 9 in 1 Tactical Pen & Flashlight for X-Mas last year. It is very cool and the light is very bright. Sparky-(Admin) 21,317 #9 Posted March 12, 2022 So my go-to flashlights are nothing special, just something so I can see on my way to start the generator. Hardware store quality is fine by me. But…if it’s old flashlights…then yes I have a weird addiction. I suspect I was bit by the flashlight bug back in the Boy Scouts. Always had to have one camping back then. As I got older I took a liking to the really old all metal flashlights with a real glass lens. “My name is Mike and I have a couple flashlights “ 2 7
Sparky-(Admin) 21,317 #10 Posted March 12, 2022 I tend to not collect or buy any plastic flashlights unless they have something cool about them. These are a few of my plastic and Bakelite ones. The Schlitz lite speaks for itself as far as coolness goes. Plastic military flashlights do somewhat interest me. The short gray one uses one D cell and has a pin to clip it to yourself. I believe it’s to assist a search crew looking for you. We all (old guys anyway) remember the free loooong flashlight that Radio Shack gave out every Christmas? I think it was a ploy to get your address and phone number ! The yellow one that is on was given to me by Russ @SALTYWRIGHT and that’s what makes that one special to me. 1 5

JCM 9,165 #15 Posted March 13, 2022 Nice collection especially the Schlitz. My first beer I was introduced to was a schlitz. I can also remember it giving me the schlitz because I drank way to much of it, oh well. live and learn. Again nice collection.

They were collectible until he got all of the flashlights. Now there’s nothing left to collect. Seriously though, that’s a phenomenal collection. I recognize a couple from my childhood. They’re long gone by now; Granny’s metal flashlight being one. But there it is! Incredible. 1

Sparky-(Admin) 21,317 #18 Posted March 13, 2022 To answer the original question…these are what I have handy when the power goes out. Just basic inexpensive units. None of them are rechargeable except the Ridgid one that runs off my cordless drill battery. I have a few other new type flashlights in my cars and trucks as well.
