The first VW beetles had an unsycronized gearbox but we drove all actual Cars like VW Golf GTI or Opel Manta or Opel GT Roadster ( the micro Corvette) Independently of that my driving trainer teaches me you can also use doubleclutch on modern cars, that was never a mistake. My PK has a Borg Warner T-92 that would grind gears. Had to wait for the main shaft to slow down enough.
