roadkillinct 58 #1 Posted March 12, 2022 (edited) The owner of Novella's scrap yard in Danbury Ct [203-743-5275] called me about this tractor. It seems to be in good shape the engine is free turns over with pull rope. Must have been taken care of the deck looks nice no exterior rust. The big selling point is it has a branded John Deere seat. Good luck if you end up with it. Edited March 12, 2022 by roadkillinct spelling

AMC RULES 37,130 #3 Posted March 12, 2022 Betting it was the seat that did it in. 1
953 nut 55,298 #4 Posted March 12, 2022 Seeing that yellow seat was the only downside of that seems to be a lot of potential there, just too far away for me.

WHGuy413 2,696 #6 Posted March 12, 2022 Other than the seat that’s a great looking tractor. Just under 2 hours from me. What are they looking to get for it?
peter lena 8,634 #7 Posted March 12, 2022 @roadkillinct , easily worth saving , you can make that into anything you want , local bone yards in my area of ct , sell everything by the pound on a scale. you might luck out and get a low take it now price. most of the lawn stuff I see there is garbage, just the bones of that horse are worth the save, good luck with that , pete

His shop is filled with working equipment from there. This 16 Automatic came from there it did not run when I brought it home exhaust valve was burnt and the carb bowl had a whole in it from rot. Runs great now. The sheet metal is perfect other than the rust. 1

I think they may not realize that once upon a time, things were built to last and could actually be repaired. They’ve probably grown accustomed to cheap unfixable consumer junk that can only be tossed once broken - it’s all they may know. I have enormous respect for those members who are teaching the youngsters about repair, maintenance and restoration. Keeping this old stuff going may be the best we have to work with in the foreseeable future if things go askew. Plowed out this heavy snow with the ‘73 no name 8 this morning. Almost 50 years old and still ran like a champ! 3

My Father is still mowing with it today!
