Ready to move.

Retired Wrencher

I pick this up last year on the cheap for a winter project and to flip in the spring. Turned out the engine was bad after the blackest oil I have ever seen. Then the true condition of the engine became clear. Did the valves I hoped this was it? But NOT.   It runs and moves well after I had to flush out the tranny nice chocolate brown. Never was changed. Down the road it goes, or I will keep it for Lawn cart 5.5 or 10 cube hauling. Thanks for looking.

74 or 75 b80? Love those. Makes me wish I had a reason to buy another tractor. 😂

That would be my vote...  That tractor has a lot of character, and now it "runs and moves well", I'd keep it.

Or convince Eric that he "needs" it. B)

Wouldn't really take a lot of convincing....

Probably a good thing Gary lives so far away from me.

@Retierd Wrencher can relate to your experience , brought back a couple of engines in the same neglected state , they both  started to get better with oil and fuel flushing, use rislone zink additive to all my stuff now , your reference to the blackest oil you have ever seen tells the story . both of those engines run run smoke and noise free now , my experience with that added zink , has been nothing but very good. your tranny flush also helps out , my lubrication  addiction is from experience , no offence intended , once you recover something, keep it going , lubrication is easy , glad you saved it , pete

My vote - not that it counts - keep it to haul / drive etc. and more importantly, as a hedge against inflation… to paraphrase someone famous: “Buy Wheel Horses boy, cuz’ they ain’t making’ em anymore”…

Need. Such a strong word.😀 But we really are trying not to collect anymore as we will have plenty when the projects we have are done.

I've seen a few of the '70s B series with eight horse engines and that's the way they all set.

Always questioned whether the engine vibration would affect the coil but it doesn't seem to.

Pete I can remember back in the day I use rislone to do that on oil changes. I will give it try a try. Thanks.

@ Retired wrencher  , https://www.amazon.com/Rislone-4405-Supplement-Concentrate-9003307&hvtargid=pla-  just got in a couple of bottles , my amazon orders are free shipping , so I  get a lot of stuff on that . use it in all my small engines , there is a definite  smoother / easier running with it in the oil . also did a 1 gallon  fuel run with heavily treated gas on the horses I saved , ran it separately just on the gallon , then i pulled the fuel drain valve , flushed out the tank , new fuel valve , 2 gas filters , i close to tank , the other just before fuel pump and check valve.  how is the bottom side of that 36" r/d deck ?  anything i suggest , I have been using / doing ,  put a lot of hours on trial experiments . so when i say it works , it works ,  good talking  pete
