ebinmaine   67,492 #1 Posted March 5, 2022 Trina's been workin' on disassembly and cleaning up the 417A for @JCM Jim.  A Couple times during and before this she's mentioned that it would be nice if she had a "her height" table to grind/work on. I said use the blue one. She reminded me that the engine for Colossus is on it. Not my problem... 😂  Well she decided to go ahead and build her own work space.   You folks may remember we have a serious tendency to use old recycled scraps whenever possible. You may also remember that over the last few months we've been helping out a local widow with some yard maintenance and also bought some tools and supplies from her.  ALL of this wood and the little drawer set came from that source.   She started by hunting down the top. Found a piece of 3/4" ply that was about the right size.  The rest of the cuts were made based on the size of that piece. Then just rifled through the pile of stick lumber to make the base.  A few screws and voila!!    4

With lumber prices being so high that is the way to go!         4
ri702bill   8,319 #4 Posted March 5, 2022 Good use of recycled materials. Just an observation - looks like you have a free-standing table with an edge overhang on 3 sides and the legs are inset inside the perimeter frame - the table may not be stable if a heavy load is placed on the overhang - perhaps add some weight below the bin above the floor to help stabilize it? JoeM Â Â 7,874 #5 Posted March 5, 2022 (edited) what's nice about wood is you can easily screw / attach other pieces to support odd shaped part etc. I have something similar using a cheap Harbo Fright dolly. Nice to push it out of the way when I get bored or want the space to work on something else. Edited March 5, 2022 by JoeM 4

Cover the top with carboard when it  gets greasy in the stove it goes. Edited March 8, 2022 by WHX??

Built by BBT. Used by BBT.  Hi, me, this guy, myself, I have a serious tendency to leave crap laying around such as tools parts supplies and every other thing you can imagine.  Trina. Nearly never. If she makes a mess she cleans it up. If she takes out tools she puts them back. Drive you Right sideways insane, she does.. I already know she isn't mentally stable -- and she'll admit it freely -- because she lives with me...
