SeanWB 2 #1 Posted February 26, 2022 I have a 523 dxi with 538 hours. It has a 60 inch mower deck rototiller snowplow an snow blower. There is also a complete parts tractor. Anybody know the value?

kpinnc 12,083 #4 Posted February 27, 2022 We've seen people literally give these tractors away for $0. And I've seen a 522xi with a deck and plow on local Craigslist where the seller asked $4500. I can't imagine even remotely entertaining that kind of money. I've always wanted a XI model, but have walked away from $1000 price tags more than once. As I said, the value is whatever both parties are happy with, but some folks are crazy!
Handy Don 12,235 #5 Posted February 27, 2022 Among my faves are sellers who label a non-running, rusty, clearly abused tractor as "rare" and then set a price higher that what the adjacent ad is asking for a similar running tractor in good shape!
SylvanLakeWH 25,598 #6 Posted February 27, 2022 Willing buyer Willing seller Equals price Diesel does add value if in good shape…

But in reality it has little effect. Got ten people trying to buy it? Then it matters. But there is still no established value. Most folks want something for nothing. Others want to be rid of something, but don't want to give it away. Value is somewhere in the middle of the two. I paid $600 for a running 520-H with a nice deck and brand new tires. I've never paid over a third of that for any other tractor I have. And I paid $5000 for a zero turn. New zero turns are often over $15-20,000. Just like $4000 wheel horses, such money is insane in my opinion. Maybe I'm just a cheap old fart. Again, it's always worth how bad you want something. pacer 3,173 #8 Posted February 27, 2022 As you have probably gathered by now --- there is just no way to give an estimate on your tractor. There are soooo many variables involved here, for instance, in the many factors already mentioned, location wasnt mentioned and is a big factor also. In your Ct location your tractor would have a wide selling point all different across the country. Down here in the South, horses are pretty rare and I have sold refurbed tractors for a price that would be laughed at in the horse populated parts of the states. I think you have something that would be an awesome find for that person who is looking. You can do a search on multiple classifieds and find some numbers, but they will be all over the place. There are just too many variables to have an established price.

Skipper 1,788 #11 Posted February 27, 2022 impossible to say much without pictures. If all OK, and also ok cosmetics, probably about 3000 for the package.

Without completely disagreeing, I'd say the definition of 'ok' needs clarification. Half that for 'ok' is not out of the realm of reality. With all due respect, throwing numbers like that doesn't help, including what I just said myself. I think Skipper is trying to head off the ever-changing answer to Sean's original post- and I for one appreciate that. Such high dollar speculation has really damaged the hobby in my opinion. No 25+ year old machine is close to that value in my mind- short of being in perfect condition with very low hours. I highly doubt any of us would offer 50% of the original value for a 25 year old car unless it was in immaculate condition. No reason for this to be different. I've told this one before: I went to an estate auction more than 10 years ago where a very marginal condition (flat tires, rusty, missing parts) non-running machine was pre-priced at $600. When I asked the seller why, he said because he looked online for pricing and saw "Wheel Horse tractors" going for that kind of money everywhere, and he thought it was cheap by comparison. Personally I wouldn't have given $100 for what I was looking at. Edited February 27, 2022 by kpinnc
wallfish 17,011 #13 Posted February 27, 2022 I'm interested in it. A big more powerful driven blower. Always wanted to go diesel too. Don't need the deck, tiller or plow but we can figure it out. PM sent

Again thank you. As has been said before, if you post pictures with your request you can get a better guage of what value someone would place on it. Understand that this, along with the infamous "what oil do I use" thread is common here. While both are valid questions, they also have been answered so many times that it's impossible to count. My apologies for my contribution to this thread going off the rails- especially for what is seemingly a simple question. I for one wish the answer was simple, but it isn't.
