REPRODUCTION WIRING HARNESSES

Recommended Posts

I see a few parts being reproduced for our tractors and wondering if anyone has stepped up to faithfully reproduce complete wiring harnesses?

The wiring harnesses on Wheel Horses underwent numerous changes over the years and even had some midyear changes during the year. No one has or is likely to offer reproduction wiring.

You can do your own rewiring with a few simple tools and the wiring diagram for your particular tractor. What model are you working on? We can help you along where needed.

Dell City is a great source for the parts, wire and tools you will need. They supply good quality connectors in a variety of configurations.

Early tractor harnesses were very simple and easy for just about anyone to reproduce. But as the tractors became more complicated, so too did their harnesses. If you go to any online Toro parts supplier and find a part number for any wiring harness, clicking on it will show that it is only compatible with a particular model/year. As @953 nut pointed out, mid-year product changes made wiring unique. I don't think that anyone would be able to make all types of harnesses and still be able to make money unless they sold their product for a lot more than the average buyer would be willing to pay.

@dmoore ,  why not contact a  wire make up specialist ?  all over the net , tell them what you have and what you want , eliminate the problems , https://www.speedwaymotors.com/info/helpcenter  , all of these guys have lay out walls , with wiring schematics , that over lay problem areas . just an idea , seen some of their work , plug in solid reliability .  hunt around , make a change for the better , pete

@dmoore  think its just the way to go , have a similar friend thats really sharp on  wiring problem change outs . easily helped out with chronic  horse wire set up . also do some rerouting to eliminate chafing and tight bend areas , use cable wrap to  protect your work . why not make it  solid and reliable  ?  good luck with it , pete

@mike avad  whatever you do , don,t be afraid to REROUTE  AND ELIMINATE TIGHT BINDING AREAS , cable wrap , enhance battery ground bolt point , to your cable grounding , directly , add mechanical electrical lugs. insuring ground as you go . pete
