My paternal grampa had a liking for birch trees.

I share that with him.

Trina was concocting a decoration with that in mind and needed a sq ft number...

@ebinmaine  while TRINA   is doing over that dash area , good opportunity to firm up that pto lever  start area , use Teflon / plastic washers as well as metal and lubricant , at the start point on that battery ground rail , makes for a solid smooth swing , pete

II drew plans and measured up houses and buildings for 50 years. Carpenters don't use them much any more but for heights an 8 ft. folding rule will get most of them a 6 ft. will get most houses.

Ladies and Gentlemen, looking for a consensus on the correct color on a 3,4, and 500 series paint for the dash tower, console ,front nose and engine/ tins. Are we talking satin, flat, matte or semi-gloss black.Yes Craig would like your input on this as well.   The paint department in Hiram Me is hot on my trail.    @ebinmaine       Thanks

I prefer satin for my Black Hoods… slightly different but nonetheless worthy comparison.

Satin trim on my 300 and 500 series hoodstand panels. Glossy on other black stuff and, of course, the red.

No two are alike.

Suggesting you you try a few different brands before you commit to laying down paint.

Also will you be using a final clear coat on these items?

Personally, I am partial to the matte finish and a final clear coat for durability.

I'm a Rustoleum oil-base rattle can guy. Rusty metal primer. Don't recall the black color.

On the non gloss areas, Is the clear coat a matte or semi gloss as well?

The clear will change the sheen, correct?

You ever try Dupli Color brand?

I've had better luck with with overall performance using it.

Now there's a name I haven't heard in quite a while. Used to sell that when I was younger and I did use it maybe 20-25 years ago.

It was good stuff. Thank you for the reminder.

It's my go-to brand. I get it at NAPA and O'Reilly's. O'Reilly's is cheaper

@JCM

If you don't have an O'Reilly's near you, let me know. There's a couple near my work.
