lynnmor 7,307 #26 Posted February 24, 2022 It is not about insurance, police reports or anything other than she damaged your property and it was witnessed. If she has some kind of insurance or just plain cash that is up to her on how to pay HER bill. I had a stupid dog run into my car and slammed into the door causing serious damage. I went to the house and she called the police on me, the cop said I should go to the District Magistrate. Well she fought it and I won. Long story, but what I learned is that you need as much information as possible and a list of her possessions that can be seized to pay bills, the VIN number of her car would be a BIG help in identifying an asset to be seized. She will likely pay the bill rather than give up a sizable asset unless she owes more on it that it is worth.

Tractorhead 9,064 #28 Posted February 24, 2022 Here your behavior would even be punishable - unauthorized removal from the scene of the accident. Can even suffice until you lose your driver's license. I think a simple "sorry, that was by mistake" would have defused this situation pretty quickly. However, I am ready to call the police at such idiots, just because of the impertinente. Action bring reaction - or how we do say here How you scream into forrest it will become echo. 3

Just… Ergh… and uhm why would any State legislators view this as worthy of a law?!?!?!? What next? Can’t put a bumper sticker on your car unless someone is actively reading it?

I did a little investigation and California seems to be the only state that has an actual law on the books that prohibits a hitch in the receiver without a trailer in tow. Any other totally worthless information you want me to look up? 5

I’m shocked… not… Glad I’m sitting down… Edit… Come to think of it, may be the only State that has no receiver, hitch or trailer to tow… Edited February 25, 2022 by SylvanLakeWH
