Pullstart 62,916 #1 Posted February 23, 2022 (edited) Lady today door dinged me so bad it shook my truck. She didn’t notice me in the driver’s seat so she came out of her car with an EEK face and ran into the post office. I waited and confronted her and she said she was sorry, but was in a hurry. She went on to explain the look of guilt I accused her with was actually a worry THAT SHE DAMAGED HER CAR! I told her I have to keep driving this junk around because people like her have zero respect for other people’s property. My truck is practically worthless, though it has only 82k on the ticker. It’s rusty and beat up. This lady could have been my mother. She had no guilt once I confronted her and acted like I inconvenienced her daily runnings around. No wind, just a hasty woman with no cares of her surroundings. I had half a nerve to put a size 10 boot in her door and act like her car was simply in the way of my interpretive dance session. ebinmaine 67,641 #2 Posted February 23, 2022 Far as I'm concerned that's a police report

WHNJ701 4,165 #4 Posted February 23, 2022 Pick and choose your battles, yeah it sucks sometimes you just gotta let it slide. Or you can be pissed off all day and kick and scream. Either way nothing is going change what happened

Never know if there's multiple claims against her... Cost quite a bit to repaint something in full and do it correctly. Doesn't matter to me if it's a brand spanking new Ferrari or an old junk truck.

stevasaurus 22,764 #7 Posted February 23, 2022 I do not get the title, and I wonder why this is posted here ?? Seems like FB stuff. Look Kevin, you always have a camera, Take a couple of picks with her in them and the damage, plate number...make a report. My guess, you will fix it yourself...even if you got a check from her insurance. This happens to all of us everyday. Why here.?? You're not selling squirrels to McDonalds, are you???
AMC RULES 37,130 #8 Posted February 23, 2022 At this point it's done and over with. You let her get away with it so move on with your life.
SylvanLakeWH 25,602 #9 Posted February 23, 2022 I keep a hitch ball bolted on all the time for similar reasons… if I get “bumped” they end up with a can opener scar on the front of their vehicle and my car is unscathed… Parking? I walk further and park out aways and next to an island… 50% reduced chance of dings automatically and way less chance because people are lazy and won’t park that far out… Bummer what happened… but as noted above … move on…

As he getting ready to put wood in the back of his truck. I gotta good laugh out of it. Looked like it hurt. Edited February 23, 2022 by jabelman 1
ebinmaine 67,641 #11 Posted February 23, 2022 Can't verify but I've read there are states where it's illegal to have a ball mount on unless towing. 3 1
WHX?? 48,833 #12 Posted February 23, 2022 I'm siding with Hosen on this one. Its the principle of the matter if a fish truck or a brand new machine. Same thing happened to me once only a lille worst. When I confronted the other driver he drove off hit and run style. I took his licence plate to the cops and they immediately knew who he was. Evidently not the first, second or third time the guy did it. They yanked his drivers licence so maybe I saved another dude's bumper. Rant on me any time you want Kev that's what friends are for. 32 minutes ago, SylvanLakeWH said: I keep a hitch ball bolted on all the time for similar reasons… Did that once and someone stole the hitch....know anybody that's hitch heavy and wants to buy some friends Sylvia?!?!
lynnmor 7,308 #13 Posted February 23, 2022 Get your truck fixed, and make sure she gets the bill. Allowing these self centered life forms get away with property damage gives them permission to keep acting that way. 3

squonk 41,156 #16 Posted February 24, 2022 Good luck getting someone to pay for damage without a police report. Maybe act civilized and get all the info needed. What's next. You carry your gun and we hear about you in a road rage incident on the news? 2

Reese Hitch made quite an impression on her hood. Hood had moved back a few inches and broke her windshield. She wanted us to pull forward so we could pull off the road at the intersection, told her I wouldn't because the hitch was through the hood and going to pull it off her car. About the time the police got there she backed up and sure enough her hood was still attached to our hitch. The policeman had a sledge hammer in his trunk and used it to get the hood free. Damage to our SUV was minimal, her little car was probably totaled.
Ifixoldjunk 778 #18 Posted February 24, 2022 My poor 98 that I’m in the process of getting rid of took a nasty blow to the fender a while back in the parking lot. The guy told me I shouldn’t be upset because it’s just a old truck.🤬

squonk 41,156 #20 Posted February 24, 2022 Back in the late 80's working at a Chevy dealer at night. One of the guys I worked with only had 1 car and his wife had it. An early 80's Olds Cutlass. These cars had a plastict trim piece in the center of the grille with the Oldsmobile rocket emblem on it. Right behind it were these 2 rods that crossed. She was parked behind a truck with a step bumper on it. On the bumper was one of those bolt on receivers with the ball and mount. He backed up and that ball went right through the Olds emblem and the ball got caught behind those crossed rods. He went to pull away and that bumper came right off the truck! I'm working in the bay and around the corner I see a car has pulled in. But the headlights look funky shining on the wall. Here she is with that bumper stuck on the front. Took a bit of work to get that thing off. We were laughing so hard we could hardly function! 1

I am licensed to and often do concealed carry. In my training course, I was taught to carry with respect to the law and the fact that I can take a life. The only time I am legally allowed to protect myself or “my castle” with lethal force of a firearm is if there is an equal threat from the non-law abiding citizen. I’m far from a poster child for all things holier than though, but I did make a commitment to protect if needed. Of all things I do joke about, carrying my gun is not one of them. 3 hours ago, stevasaurus said: I do not get the title, and I wonder why this is posted here This is non-tractor discussion right?… and that woman needs more discipline in her life. 2 hours ago, lynnmor said: Get your truck fixed, and make sure she gets the bill. It isn't necessarily a show truck... but it is pretty clean... doesn't have THAT many scratches since it was painted. Anyhoo... the brat was throwing a tantrum... and flung the suv's door open... banging the side of the Ranger. I got out... the momma just looked at me... I got the satisfaction of seeing his momma beat the royal jelly out of his behind... Don 2
