Tiller vs Plow

What do you guys prefer a plough or a tiller.

depends on your soil.  If you have nice rock free loam or clay rock mix...

Plough can go deeper, we often use the plow first, then use the tiller

We have Clay ground should I go with a tiller or a plow.

I would say yes.

 

Turn it over in the fall with a plow and break in up in the spring with the tiller.:twocents-twocents:

I need both. Break the ground with the moldboard, let it dry out.

 

Then till 'til I like the consistency.

A mold board plow will probably cost less also…

You will need a clevis hitch to go on the rear of your 520-8. You can get a new one at Wheel Horse Parts and More, a vendor in classified here, or look for a used one also in our classifieds.

Or you could place a wanted ad in our classifieds for one…

It is a 520-8 I am thinking of just getting a mold board plow.

If you use a mold board plow you will need a disk or a tiller....to make a decent seed bed.
