That looks so good Jon!  Then again, I’m a sucker for a fat rear end!

 Dan you gave me a challenge so I'm making you famous with a unique cosmetic flair that shall forever be known as the Achto Accent. I believe it helps restore the original proportion of length to width lost in the stretch. If anything I hope it will have an impression on all who notice it.

Interesting how such a subtle change can make such a huge difference.

Just stumbled across this thread. Cool Idea and awesome execution. I especially like the sheetmetal work you did.

I'll be watching closely :ph34r:

@Oldskool

You are so right.

I call them "what ifs".

"What if" the factory built one like it.

Kinda like the wife's vertical shaft hydro, mock round hood I built her.

@giddyap  I'm really diggin your build.

I'm gonna sit tight and watch this one.

Not to take from Jon’s thread, do you have a build on that one somewhere?

The sheet metal I used for the hood extension was the jacket from the outside of a home hot water tank. For the tower I had to buy a piece. Before these pictures I made a paper template and transferred it to the metal. Tape, instead of a marking pen was used for the cutting line. Now that it is made and a good fit, I better make precise holes.:tools-hammerdrill:

What year is the toolbox and fenders from?  Most of the ones (maybe all) I have don’t have the weld nuts on them.

Very nice!

Do you have a favorite light coat filler?

What grit paper/scuff pad do you get up/down to?

Thanks Eric   I plan on giving it a second coat Wed evening after a 600 wet sand and then Sat a final 1500 wet sand. IDNK fillers, your suggestion?

Finally after too many hours of fighting with a major paint manufacturer this is the finished hood. I won't disclose the brand name but I will say 3 different lot numbers of the same color name were all different tints. I sent a complaint and after 10 days accepted a refund check over a color match. The paint manager at my local Ace store suggested their brand and is now my favorite
