giddyap 1,569 #1 Posted February 20, 2022 Marketplace is killing me...I find a C-175 roller I must have! Upon inspection it has a 4 speed but the price is right. In order to stuff it in the back of my my Pathfinder, I drop the tranny and the 2 halves fit and I take it home. My plan is to make a round hood clone on a large frame but change direction after seeing it. Now with a stretched hood, two small Predators could fit but I'm unable to set the fan gear back without incorporating a chain set up, nix that idea. And a universal joint would not work. What I did next I highly recommend. I added a couple of flanges to the steering and now it is rock solid. It's better than building a strong tower. I highly recommend beefing up the steering. Next comes the drive train, body work or set it aside and find out why my K341AS will only start with a jump. 4

Dan you gave me a challenge so I'm making you famous with a unique cosmetic flair that shall forever be known as the Achto Accent. I believe it helps restore the original proportion of length to width lost in the stretch. If anything I hope it will have an impression on all who notice it.

"What if" the factory built one like it. Kinda like the wife's vertical shaft hydro, mock round hood I built her. @giddyap I'm really diggin your build. I'm gonna sit tight and watch this one. 1 1

The sheet metal I used for the hood extension was the jacket from the outside of a home hot water tank. For the tower I had to buy a piece. Before these pictures I made a paper template and transferred it to the metal. Tape, instead of a marking pen was used for the cutting line. Now that it is made and a good fit, I better make precise holes. 4
Pullstart 62,905 #21 Posted March 4, 2022 What year is the toolbox and fenders from? Most of the ones (maybe all) I have don’t have the weld nuts on them.

giddyap 1,569 #23 Posted March 8, 2022 A picture is worth a thousand words but seeing is believing. The belly is full of patches held together with rivets or fiberglass. The steering wheel should come Tuesday and a 6" pulley on Wednesday. The only huddle is a gas tank that doesn't leak 2 10
ebinmaine 67,573 #24 Posted March 8, 2022 Very nice! Do you have a favorite light coat filler? What grit paper/scuff pad do you get up/down to? @JCM
giddyap 1,569 #25 Posted March 8, 2022 Thanks Eric I plan on giving it a second coat Wed evening after a 600 wet sand and then Sat a final 1500 wet sand. IDNK fillers, your suggestion? Finally after too many hours of fighting with a major paint manufacturer this is the finished hood. I won't disclose the brand name but I will say 3 different lot numbers of the same color name were all different tints. I sent a complaint and after 10 days accepted a refund check over a color match. The paint manager at my local Ace store suggested their brand and is now my favorite
