Okay guys my transmission just went out on my 520-8 it won't pull itself and when you go to push  the tractor by hand while it is in gear it just makes a grinding noise what could cause this.

I didn't think that it ran right now.:confusion-confused: Is this thing self destructing all by its self??

When they are not running you sometimes have to rock them a little to line the gears up so that they will mesh correctly. Just the nature of a standard tranny.

:text-yeahthat: x2…

And gently try to shift those gears… force is not your friend in this case…

You cannot shift while in motion, if that is what you are doing.

The fluid level is at full. I never shift while in motion. And a lot of times what I do from the when I read the manual is I push the clutch in and put it back out and try it again and it works.

That is what you have to do sometimes with straight cut gears and no synchronizers.

Do you have the belt guard on? It must be there to support the belt when it is loose.
