More than one tractor

yer tractor is only a King in your yard. everywhere else its a project or parts roller.

Ive always had at least 2, starting with my Gramps C160 Hydro , 48in deck tiller snow blower and blade,

Possible replies,

because we can

because it makes sense

we are WHJs { wheel Horse Junkies }

need the parts

keeping up with the rest of em

Last But not least, showing the JD owners how its done.

Just my 2 cents for my 2 WH tractors.....+ Parts....

Good quote Paul. The same here one for winter one for summer. And one for just enjoying it= the old start/gen tractor.

It started with one then a second one came along and then when my grandfather passed I found another one in his shed. I said why do I need three? Well now between myself and my kids we have 15 runners and some parts machines. It was never intended to happen like that but glad it did. It’s collecting and tinkering now. I have a few set up for work that attachments stay on like the mowers and snow/dirt plow. I also have a few that don’t ever see work.

Started out with just one.But like so many others mentioned here the rascals are addictive! You will find each one has a specific purpose. My C-120 Hydro is ideal for running the mower. Prepped my garden spot with the C-160 Hydro and Brinley plow, followed with another C-120 and blade to level the furrows and finished with 416-8 and tiller. Easy as pie! Plus using any one of them for towing the grand kids around. Plus they all have distinct personalities. Spent less on all of them and implements than one new green machines at Home Depot and love how simple and powerful they are. Grin every time I see the price tag on the new green machines...... :D

    Ever see a kid with one car in his Matchbox collection????There's the answer...With me, it all started out with needing a spare. Then you get the first one fixed back up, then something breaks and it's just easier to swap out another transmission. You get a roller for parts, then you need decks. Then a guy throws in a roller when you buy some decks .....Then you fight a losing battle trying to see how many will run at the same time and you are buying wheel paint and inner tubes in quantity because of all those slow leaks...

   Once you discover how easy it is to trade parts from machines made many years apart, it's over and you have johnny cash's "One piece at a time "" Cadillac assembled from many years and pieces parts. No way can you do that with any other line of machines.   Honda motorcycles come pretty close as twin cylinders from the seventies and beyond share many parts through a twenty year span, and some even with automobiles. 

   I even have one engine with  some Blue tins from Maine. I swapped a Briggs for a little Kohler that my daughter got in Michigan and traded engines in a grocery store parking lot. It was missing  those tins and Eric helped me out . No way am I painting them red and the engine is now  named Eric.
