@TJ Salyers  Look, being honest, I think you already know the answer to your question.  That is why you became a supporter.  This is a family, and you are now a part of it.  Enjoy the ride !!  Good people here, and they can help you, but they can't make everything right.  Understand???

Clear as gas.

I worked for NAPA in my early 20s and also did deliveries. Before computers. When we each had 8ft of catalogs and still mixed our own paint by weighing it....

You have a plow/blade for sale. If you had another tractor you'd have an excuse to keep it....

But now I have a 520 that has a blade on it if I could find a free Wheel Horse in my area I'd sure take it.

Right!   After a few years of seat time and TLC it would be somewhat like selling a family member.

Good to have a backup tractor. Every tractor should have a backup, therefore it is an endless process of obtaining a backup for the last tractor you bought as a backup to the previous tractor, which was a backup to ..........

WHAT?

Dude... don't you HAVE a "free" tractor sitting on your property? You have a raider. All it needs is a new engine... :confusion-confused:

Why are you trying to justify not fixing the raider? Isn't that really what this whole thread is about?

Just take a wild guess why we have more than 1 tractor... even different brands...!

Because we fix them. We invest time, money, resources, and EVERYONE on Redsquare invests knowledge into our tractors. We do this as a hobby. We do this because we happen to love our tractors.

There is no way that you are going to be able to justify not fixing the raider. You don't need another tractor to sit around like a pile of junk, while you justify only needing your 520-8... :eusa-think:

Hmmm...

A Raider that needs an engine?

Just for thought- 4hp is enough to drive it around, and there is enough room under the hood for 18-20hp if you have an opposed twin. Of course every K-series or Magnum single cylinder (except the K-361) will fit nicely.

And THAT young man, would be a project. Repowers are great fun in my opinion, and not nearly as hard as you may think.

And here I was thinking that the reason you haven't fixed it is because you want to keep the stock engine (like you said)...

I guess I didn't know all of the truth... :dunno:

Well, bud, I wish you would have told me that a long time ago... I probably would have understood better. I thought you acted strange about the engine information I was giving you. I didn't know that there were more reasons ...until now...

People can't read minds... :eusa-think:

I don’t think any of us ever intended to own as many tractors as we do, in my case I bought a bolens to move firewood, somehow got addicted, justified buying a 310-8 for snowblowing, and one thing after another your entire barn is full of old saws, splitters and tractors.
